Freight Forwarding Apprentice (Ipswich)

 

Anchor Freight are now seeking a Freight Forwarding Apprentice to join them in our progressive company. This is a great opportunity for a dedicated and committed individual who wants to become qualified in customs clearance. This is a 40-hour working week position, Monday to Friday.

Ideally, you will need to be based reasonably local to Ipswich and have your own transport, although this is not essential.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently when required to do so.
  • Have a professional mannerism when liaising with potential and existing clients.
  • Be competent in all Microsoft packages, including Excel.

 

Job Description:

To train and develop into a competent member of staff, by being able to complete the following:

  • Creating new jobs
  • Being able to read an invoice and understand the information needed to complete a compliant customs clearance declaration
  • Understanding the invoicing process including all additional charges for various ports etc
  • Assist Sales / Pricing with obtaining rates as per client requests.
  • Learning CNS and MCP codes and completing action on respective systems
  • Understand routings and be competent with GVMS and inventory-linked clearances

The successful applicant will be given full training on all of the above tasks and will only be asked to complete them independently once competent and comfortable doing so.

 

We offer 20 days of holiday plus bank holidays, increasing by one day each year up to a maximum of 25 days plus bank holidays.

Customs Clearance Apprentice (Dover)

 

Anchor Freight are now seeking a Customs Clearance Apprentice to join them in this progressive company. This is a great opportunity for a dedicated and committed individual who wants to become qualified in customs clearance.  This is a 40-hour working week position, working Monday to Friday.

 

Ideally you will need to live reasonably local to Dover and ideally own transport, although not essential.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Work well within a team, can take instruction well and complete tasks within a timely manner.
  • Be able to work of own initiative.
  • Be computer literate.
  • A Maths & English qualification is desirable.

Full training of all systems will be given.

 

Job Description:

To assist the forwarding team with below tasks.

  • Loading new jobs onto the system
  • Performing ETA Checks to ensure we are always showing correct information in the system.
  • Assisting forwarding manager with job costing / Passing purchase invoices
  • Assist Sales / Pricing with obtaining rates as per client requests.
  • Booking client deliveries
  • Requesting releases from the shipping lines.
  • Arranging payments to the shipping lines / providers.

The successful applicant will be given full training on all the above tasks and will only be asked to complete independently once competent and comfortable to do so
