When Two Become One

It is with great pleasure that Anchor Freight announces that we have joined forces with John Denny Agencies (JDA) in Felixstowe, and have set up a brand-new trading division, based in Felixstowe, called ‘JD Anchor’. 

John Denny, with his 30 plus years of experience, will head up this new division with a clear focus on building upon the successful achievements of JDA. The Felixstowe office will become Anchor’s fourth UK office.

Carl Day, CEO of Anchor Freight said, “By combining both JDA’s and Anchor’s existing deep-sea forwarding activities, we believe that all our clients will benefit from both, the greater leverage this brings and the wider range of specialist services we provide” he also said “I have known John [John Denny] for too many years to remember and we share the same desire for service excellence which makes our coming together a sound framework to take the combined business forward”.

The JD Anchor clients will have the advantage of having direct access to Anchor’s global network as well as the other specialist services provided across their other UK offices: [Dover – CDS compliant specialist customs services including food, beverage, duty, and excise goods; Glasgow – Project freight, specialist container and reefer expertise; Ipswich – European freight and UK specialist warehousing and distribution services].

John Denny added ‘the freight industry has witnessed so much turbulence in recent years and with the introduction of the new Customs Declaration Service system (CDS) I felt the time was right to take my business to the next level. Anchor Freight who was established in Scotland in 1997, becoming the logistics arm of the One Group Construction Limited in 2019. The group provides bespoke specialist solutions across civil engineering, construction (commercial & residential), road and infrastructure as well as renewable energy solutions.
